Accessibility: Classroom venues

Our classroom courses are held in a variety of locations, including our home venue – the 400-year old Dovecote that's part of EOS HQ in Oxfordshire.

Here's what you need to know about each venue, its location and accessibility.

If you need someone to support you during your classroom course (e.g. a carer), we are happy to accommodate. Please give us a call when you are ready to book. There is no charge for your carer; however please note that lunch is only provided for the person booked onto the course.

EOSmag Tackley sq
This unique building, home to EOS Training Academy and on the same site as EOS magazine, is a three-storey Grade II listed pigeon house. The classroom is on the ground floor of the Dovecote, but has narrow doorways leading into the building. The toilets are located on the first floor, as is the break-out area for lunch and refreshments. There is no disabled toilet at present – this is under review, but with the nature of this old and historic building, options are limited. There are other toilets with step-free access in other buildings on-site which are available to use, should you be unable to navigate the stairs, and staff are on-hand to assist with lunch and refreshments.

The Dovecote is unsuitable if you have limited mobility or are in a wheelchair – if you're unsure and would like further advice give us a call. There's free parking on-site and lunch is included in your course.

Canon Reigate workshop
This stunning site on the edges of Reigate is home to Canon UK and we're delighted to be able to continue to run our workshop programme at this location in 2018. The purpose-built head office fuses visually stunning architecture with the latest in business solutions technology. The environmentally friendly building is landscaped to blend into the natural slope of a hill, preserving existing meadowland and tree areas. We take advantage of the beautiful surroundings during some of our workshops, where practical elements enhance the course delivery.

Canon HQ offers full disabled access and facilities. However, we are required to give advance notice of accessibility requirements to Canon, so please let us know of your needs at the time of booking.

Parking at Canon HQ is free. Lunch is included in your workshop.

Canon RCC Elstree
Canon's service centre in Elstree, Borehamwood is located just inside the M25, off J4 of the M1. The repair team moved to this facility in 2015 in order to improve its service and efficiency levels. We began running workshops at Elstree in mid-2017.

The classroom at Elstree is located on the first floor which is only accessible by stairs. Unfortunately that makes this location unsuitable for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility.

There's free parking at the rear of the service centre for day visitors and you'll get a light lunch as part of your course.

Crewe sign heritage centre
Crewe Heritage Centre offers convenient access to our Canon photography courses for photographers in and around North Wales and North West England.

This small railway museum was built to celebrate 150 years of Crewe, and has a lecture room which we're making use of for our classroom space. And for the workshops with a practical session, there are subjects aplenty outside to train your camera on and put what you've learnt to the test.

You can park for free on-site and lunch is provided as part of your course.

As the classroom is located on the first floor and there is no lift, this venue is unsuitable for wheelchair users.

York Premier Inn
New for 2019, this location is universally accessible and has level access from the entrance through to the room we're using as a classroom. A portable hearing loop is also available. Disabled toilets are available.

It would be useful to know in advance if you require any assistance or would like support in any way, as we can arrange this with the hotel before your arrival.

There is only limited parking on-site, £12 for 24 hours (last checked on 16 December 2018). All parking, including disabled bays, are chargeable. There is also a public NCP car park nearby.
