These terms and conditions relate to EOS Training Academy course bookings made online, by phone or by post.

Full payment is taken at the time of booking. Payment may be made by card over the phone, online by PayPal (using either a PayPal account or a debit/credit card), or by cheque in the post. Payment by cheque must result in cleared funds at least 10 working days before the course date. Cheques should be made payable to Robert Scott Publishing Limited.

Cancellation policy
In the event that you wish to cancel your booking before the event takes place the following refund policy applies:

  – 30 days or more before the course date – full refund or free transfer onto an alternative course;

  – Between 10 and 29 days before the course date – no refund; £25 rebooking fee payable to transfer onto an alternative course;

  – Less than 10 days before the course date – no refund or transfer.

We reserve the right to cancel an event for any reason. Where we cancel a particular date or event we will endeavour to provide as much notice as possible and will offer you a full refund or alternative course/date. We will not be held liable for other costs/expenditure you may have incurred (such as travel or hotel accommodation).

Any bookings which do qualify for a transfer can only be transferred once. The transfer must be completed within six months of the original course date.

Adverse weather
Should we need to cancel your course because of adverse weather conditions, the decision to do so will be based on Met office warnings. To protect both our staff and our customers, any course scheduled to be held in an area subject to an amber or red weather warning around the time of the course will be cancelled, with the offer of a full refund or free transfer onto an alternative course.

Likewise should you be unable to attend because your local area is subject to an amber or red weather warning, then you can choose to receive a full refund or free transfer onto an alternative course.

You can find more information on Met Office severe weather guidance here:

Workshops include a light lunch and refreshments.

Practical events do not include any food or drink, unless otherwise stated. Your course fee is for tuition only.

Dietary requirements
If attending a course where food is provided, please let us know at the time of booking (or shortly afterwards) if you have any specific dietary requirements or allergies. We will do all we can to accommodate your dietary needs. As we use outside caterers for all of our events, we need to know at least 72 hours in advance of the course taking place. If you do not provide this information in advance we will not be able to offer alternative refreshments to meet your needs and you will not be entitled to a partial refund or compensation for extra costs you may incur.

Accessibility – workshops
The Oxford-based workshops are held in a beautiful Grade II listed pigeon house. The venue is split over three floors linked only by flights of stairs and washroom facilities are only available on the first floor. We cannot currently accommodate visitors with limited mobility – but will continue to monitor the situation and reassess the situation at reglaur intervals. Please check with us before booking if you are unsure about the suitability of the venue for your fitness level.

There are full disabled facilities at Canon HQ in Reigate, Surrey, but we must inform Canon staff of your needs in advance (at least 72 hours) – please contact us when booking your workshop so that we can understand your individual requirements.

At Canon Service Centre in Elstree, the workshops take place in a first floor room, to which there is no lift. Therefore this venue is unsuitable for visitors with limited mobility.

For workshops run at Crewe Heritage Centre, the meeting room is located on the first floor of the old signal box and is only accessible by stairs. Therefore this venue is unsuitable for visitors with limited mobility.

If you need someone to support you during your workshop (e.g. a carer), we are happy to accommodate. Please call to discuss when booking your workshop.

Fitness – practical days
The practical days are held in locations chosen for their suitability for photography, meaning that uneven ground and steps cannot be avoided. During the course of the event it is normal to walk between two and four miles. Practical events will run regardless of the weather, so make sure you wear/bring suitable clothing to accommodate this. If attending events during the winter months be aware that we will be outside for large parts of the day so you need to dress warmly. If you have any mobility issues it is important that you tell us at the time of booking so we can advise you on the suitability of the event for you.

If you have a carer and would like to bring them along to support you during your course, we may be able to accommodate your carer. There would be no course fee payable for your carer, but your carer may still be subject to entry fees by the venue. Please contact us to discuss.

All EOS Training Academy course prices are inclusive of VAT at the current prevailing rate.
