Optimise your EOS 7D Mark II / 5D Mark III / 5DS / 5DS R (190220W)

Wednesday 20 February 2019, 10:00 - 16:30 , Canon HQ (Surrey)

Optimise your EOS 7D Mark II / 5D Mark III / 5DS / R workshop

Getting to grips with these cameras on your own is a steep learning curve, so take the sting out of the process and fast-track your knowledge with this in-depth one-day classroom-based workshop, led by one of our technically-trained tutors.

The EOS 5D Mark III and 7D Mark II cameras are packed with professional-level features and functions. This classroom course will teach you how to optimise your camera to get the best possible images from it, and you'll learn how to use some of the more advanced options. An ideal workshop if you're seeking to tap into the potential locked away in your camera in order to improve your photography.

If you own the specialist 5DS or 5DS R camera, then this workshop is also suitable for you as it shares much in common with the two cameras.

You will get a very brief recap on the basics of photography before moving onto your camera's settings, overrides and advanced features. It's assumed that you'll be up to speed with the basics – if you need a refresher or aren't sure about key principles like the exposure triangle, then we recommend EOS for Beginners before coming on this workshop.

The camera options and flexibility can be confusing, so we explain the features, and when and how to make the most of them. You will learn how to get started with the powerful and sophisticated AF system, switch quickly between settings and configure the camera to suit your favourite subjects. Throughout the session you will learn about practical uses of the various camera functions.

One of the more daunting elements to these models is the vast menu, so you’ll spend time exploring the menu system thoroughly so you know where to go to customise the key settings. By getting to know your camera in this way, you'll be more comfortable and more confident in its handling.

We guarantee that, by the end of the day, you'll have the instructions and tools you need to set up your camera, customise it to suit your photographic needs and take greater control of your Canon EOS 5D Mark III, EOS 7D Mark II or 5DS / R camera.

As part of your course you will receive a link to an online video tutorial specific to your camera. This 45-minute tutorial covers essential information you need to cover prior to attending this workshop, so you can gain maximum benefit from your tutor's instruction on the day.

You will also get a comprehensive handout at the start of the class, with space for notes, which is yours to take away.

What's more, you'll get a light lunch and refreshments on your workshop.

Bring your EOS camera, a standard zoom lens, memory cards and a fully charged battery.

If, however, this is your first DSLR camera – for example, you're moving up from a smartphone or a compact camera – then we recommend that you first attend the EOS for Beginners workshop.
