Creative Speedlite workshop

1605BWP40220 0849 copyAn advanced Speedlite workshop that will help you to push your creativity with flash. Learning how to control and manage multiple light sources will raise your photos to the next level. This workshop builds on your working knowledge of flash photography and develops new skills with multiple lights and creative lighting techniques.

This workshop combines a short classroom session followed by varied practical lighting scenarios. Starting from a simple single light working off-camera, the workshop moves on to multiple off-camera flash set-ups.

One of the first practical exercises will entail the lighting design and control of a simple product photo. This helps you build and refine your skills for controlling one or more lights from your camera. For the next step you will photograph our workshop model with multiple light scenarios. We aim to mix colour, lighting styles and modifiers to create a picture that is beyond what is seen by the naked eye.

This is an advanced level course designed to grow your ability to control light for a range of photographic situations. Your workshop instructor is a Canon flash system specialist who enjoys the challenge of working with multiple combinations of cameras and flashes.

Learn how to:

– Set up a Speedlite master flash and slave flash
– Control a single off-camera Speedlite
– Set up and control multiple off-camera Speedlites
– Remotely control your Speedlite system from a computer
– Mix flash and ambient light sources creatively
– Modify the light from your Speedlite for better creative results

You will need:

You will need your EOS camera, a standard zoom or short telephoto lens and a Speedlite flash that can be configured as a master (Speedlite 90EX, 430EX III-RT, 550EX, 580EX, 580EX II, 600EX-RT, 600EX RT-II or Speedlite Transmitter ST-E2 or ST-E3-RT). If you have any other Speedlite flashes in addition to the master listed above you will benefit from bringing them with you. Some Canon cameras can also be used as a master instead (EOS 600D, 650D, 700D, 750D, 760D, 6D, 70D, 80D, 7D and 7D Mark II). Don't forget to bring charged batteries for your camera and Speedlites and a memory card or two for your camera.
